1. How We Handle Uploaded Lease PDFs (In-Memory Processing)

When you select a PDF lease file for analysis, your browser transmits the file over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our analysis endpoint (/api/analyze).

• No Disk or Database Storage of Leases: The PDF file is converted into an in-memory buffer solely for the duration of the scan request (typically 10–35 seconds) and is automatically garbage-collected from memory immediately after the JSON report is returned to your browser.
• AI Processing Partner: To extract clauses, fee tables, and plain-English explanations, the temporary in-memory buffer is transmitted via secure API to Google's Gemini API (@google/genai). Paid/API requests sent through the Google Gemini API are governed by Google Cloud's API data privacy terms.

2. Information We Collect & Why

LeaseCheck does not require you to create an account or password to run your free lease scan. We collect only the minimum technical and transactional data necessary to operate the Service:

• Free Scan Quota & Anti-Abuse Identifiers: Because each AI lease scan incurs real compute costs, we provide one (1) free scan per user. To enforce this fairly without requiring a sign-up, we set an HttpOnly cookie (lc_uid) and compute a one-way cryptographic SHA-256 hash of anonymized browser/hardware traits and network IP address. We store only the non-reversible hash and usage count—not your raw personal identity.
• Payment & Lifetime Pass Key Records: If you purchase the $3.99 One-Time Lifetime Unlimited Pass, your payment is processed securely by PayPal. We store the PayPal Order ID, the generated Lifetime Pass Key (LC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX), and your payer email address or PayPal Payer ID so that you can recover a lost Pass Key or request customer support. We never see or store your credit card or bank account numbers.
• Local Browser Storage (localStorage): When you unlock or enter a Lifetime Pass Key, your browser saves that Pass Key locally on your device so you don't have to re-type it on future visits.
• Support Messages: If you contact us via our support form or email getleasecheck@gmail.com, we collect your email address and message contents so we can reply and resolve your issue.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share limited data only with essential infrastructure providers required to deliver the Service:

• Google Gemini API: For real-time, in-memory AI lease analysis.
• PayPal: For secure checkout and payment verification for the $3.99 Lifetime Pass.
• Cloud Hosting & Security Providers: To host the web application and protect against DDoS or automated bot attacks.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, strict server-side API key isolation, cryptographic SHA-256 hashing for anti-abuse quota checks, and zero-persistence memory buffers for uploaded PDFs.

5. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (including California, Virginia, Colorado, and other US states), you have the right to request information about the data we hold associated with your email address or PayPal Order ID, or to request deletion of your support or Pass Key records. Because we never store your uploaded lease PDFs, there are no stored lease files to delete.
